Attaching a file

What you can upload and how to get the most from it

Written by Laura Phillips

You can give Colette a document or image to work from. Use the paperclip near the message box: attach one file, explain the task, then send.

What you can upload

PDF, Word (.docx), plain text, and PNG, JPG, GIF or WebP images, up to 10MB each.

Give the file a purpose

Before uploading, decide what you want Colette to find or do. Tell her whether you need analysis, ideas, feedback or a draft, and which parts matter for this task.

You don't need to upload everything you've ever written to get a useful result. If you have lots of source material, choose the relevant section or work through it in stages.

Good to know

  • Reading documents uses some of your Studio allowance. Longer documents generally use more.

  • An attachment is analysed for the task. It isn't a permanent document vault, so keep your original.

  • In a new conversation, attach the relevant material again if you need Colette to consult it.
